Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has addressed the growing frustration voiced by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc after a difficult Qatar Grand Prix. Both drivers have openly criticised the team’s lack of pace and overall performance during the 2025 season.
Vasseur acknowledged that the pair’s disappointment is understandable given how challenging the year has been for Ferrari. He noted that the team, just like the drivers, has been battling the same problems race after race.
According to Vasseur, Hamilton and Leclerc’s reactions reflect the emotional strain of repeatedly falling short despite their best efforts. He stressed that such comments are a natural result of their competitive spirit and desire to win.
The Ferrari boss explained that if he were asked similar questions in the heat of the moment after a session, he would likely respond with the same level of frustration. The pressure inside the team garage and on the pit wall makes it difficult to hide disappointment.
Vasseur concluded that while the criticism might seem harsh, it highlights how much the drivers care about improving Ferrari’s fortunes. He believes the team must use this frustration positively as they work to turn their season around.
