Red Bull appears ready to reveal Liam Lawson’s future, with strong indications that he will stay on the Formula 1 grid for 2026. Racing Bulls are expected to confirm him as part of their driver line-up before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend begins.
The wider 2026 Red Bull announcement is set for Tuesday, and multiple insiders report that Isack Hadjar will move up to join Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing. At the same time, British newcomer Arvid Lindblad is tipped to secure a full-time F1 seat with Racing Bulls.
Lawson is expected to claim the final available spot after rebuilding his reputation within the Red Bull programme following a challenging year. His selection comes after lengthy internal discussions over which two of Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda, or Lindblad would make the cut.
Tsunoda was an early favourite, especially after stepping in for Lawson at Red Bull Racing early in the season. However, his uneven performances and the team’s long-term engine strategy eventually pushed him out of contention.
During the Qatar weekend, Tsunoda hinted he already knew the outcome but was unable to reveal it. Reports soon emerged suggesting Lawson had won the seat, with Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claiming the decision was already finalised. That assessment now appears to be accurate.
