Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies offered glowing praise for Max Verstappen after what he described as yet another flawless performance in Las Vegas. Mekies said Verstappen once again demonstrated the level of control and precision that has become expected from him.
Speaking to reporters, Mekies pointed out that Verstappen’s launch off the line set the tone for the race. His rapid start pressured Lando Norris into an early mistake at Turn 1, allowing the Dutchman to seize the lead at a decisive moment.
The Red Bull principal emphasized that Verstappen simply doesn’t fail in those high-pressure opening moments. He called Verstappen’s Turn 1 execution “typical Max,” noting that he always seems to get crucial race starts absolutely right.
Once ahead, Verstappen dictated the pace with total authority. Mekies highlighted how the world champion pushed when necessary and eased off when required, showcasing complete command of the race’s rhythm.
According to Mekies, that blend of aggression, timing, and consistency amounted to a true masterclass — another example of Verstappen’s ability to dominate from the very first corner to the chequered flag.
