Charles Leclerc said the highlight of his Friday in Abu Dhabi was seeing his younger brother Arthur take part in FP1, calling it the “only positive” of an otherwise difficult day for Ferrari.
He described the moment as special, as it’s rare for both brothers to share the track in official Formula 1 running.
For the second consecutive season, the Leclerc brothers were both on circuit during the first practice session at Yas Marina.
Arthur, now 25, was completing Ferrari’s final required rookie appearance of the year.
During the hour-long session, Arthur managed 27 laps while continuing to settle into the SF-24.
His pace placed him 16th on the timesheets, a solid effort for a rookie outing with limited track time.
There was also a lighthearted moment between the two siblings.
Arthur joked about Charles “doing some burnouts” after the older Leclerc had a small spin at Turn 5.
Even with the humour, Charles made it clear that Ferrari’s overall Friday performance was not where he wanted it to be, reinforcing why Arthur’s participation stood out as the main positive of the day.
